Clifford Blakey MFA, BA, BWS, FIGA is a Northumberland artist who paints Contemporary Landscapes, Seascapes, Still Life and Figurative paintings.
Born in 1957 he was educated at Newcastle University in the 1970s and 80s where he gained his degree in Fine Art and his Master of Fine Art. Under the teaching of Norman Adams RA Clifford was inspired to follow his career as an artist.
An artist for over 35 years, Clifford has exhibited widely in England and Scotland and has works in private collections all over the world, including the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Spain, France and Belgium.
He teaches private Art Classes for Art Groups in venues around Northumberland.
Clifford has completed important commissions for the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland and in the past he has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show, The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, has won prizes such as the Bockingford Watercolour Prize and in 2021 opened his own gallery Northern Coast Gallery to exhibit his new work as it is completed. In 2024 Clifford closed his gallery to concentrate on his painting and now works from his Garden Studio at his home.
Clifford's paintings are also exhibited on a regular basis at Blagdon Gallery near Morpeth in Northumberland and The Biscuit Factory Gallery in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
